I’d been considering a new boat for the family for a while. We want to get into some serious fishing and give the kids some good memories! My previous was a 2007 5.3m Figlass Firestar and before that a 1965 13ft Savage Avenger ski boat! They were great fun but I’ve sold these now.
I’ve been looking for a good 6-7m hardtop aluminium boat for playing around the Auckland Islands. I’ve considered all the normal brands, Stabicraft, Kiwicraft, AMF, McClay, Fyran etc. My father told me about BlueFin boats and that they had some sharp deals at the Fielddays event.
I’d never heard of them, but did a fair bit of homework and was very impressed with what I found in reviews, forums, talking to boat shops etc. Their pricing was pretty affordable as well, despite appearing to be just as well built as the top players!

In summary, We bought a boat!!! The plan is to keep it at the Pine Harbour Boat Park and take it out once in a while with mates.
